Science Teacher

About the role

The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons that inspire and challenge students. They will teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons that inspire and challenge students.
• Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and parents' evenings.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

Required profile

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has a degree in a Science‑related subject (desirable but not essential).
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education.
• Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Is committed to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
• Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to school life.
• Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential for ECTs).
