About the role
We are seeking an experienced Science Teacher to provide maternity cover from October 2026 in West Sussex. The role involves delivering high‑quality GCSE science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while maintaining strong pupil outcomes and fostering a love of learning.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging GCSE science lessons across all three disciplines.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, aiming to improve attainment and achievement.
- Introduce innovative teaching methods to motivate and challenge learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support a cohesive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and fulfil statutory reporting requirements.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven ability to teach all three GCSE science subjects.
- Demonstrated track record of raising pupil outcomes.
- Experience of delivering strong attainment and using creative approaches to engage students.
- Excellent organisational skills and a collaborative team mindset.
Required skills
- Science subject knowledge (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
