Science Teacher – Plymouth – £35k-£55k – Sep Start

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join its secondary department in Plymouth from September. The role is permanent and full‑time, covering Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 depending on expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics for KS3 and KS4.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback and support improvement.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive laboratory environment.
• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and extra‑curricular activities.
• Uphold the school’s values of respect, responsibility and academic excellence.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Ability to inspire curiosity and develop practical scientific skills.
• Willingness to work with both early‑career teachers (ECTs) and experienced staff.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics curricula.
• Effective classroom management and lesson‑planning techniques.
