Science Technician – Chemistry (Tower Hamlets)

About the role

We are recruiting a Science Technician with a strong chemistry background to support an outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. The role involves preparing practical lessons, supporting teachers, and maintaining laboratory safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, chemicals and resources for practical lessons.
• Support teachers with experiments and demonstrations.
• Safely handle, store and dispose of chemicals.
• Maintain high standards of laboratory health and safety.
• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and resources.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to the Science Department.

Required profile

• Strong chemistry background – essential.
• Chemistry degree or related scientific discipline – desirable.
• Previous laboratory experience – highly desirable.
• Confident handling chemicals safely.
• Good understanding of laboratory health and safety.
• Strong IT and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Reliable, proactive and professional approach.
• Genuine desire to pursue a long‑term career as a Science Technician.
