Science Technician – Full‑Time (School) – Lambeth

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Science Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in Lambeth on a full‑time, five‑day‑a‑week basis. The role involves supporting science teachers and students by preparing and maintaining practical laboratory sessions in a safe, well‑resourced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are stocked and organised.
• Support teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
• Assist with the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
• Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Science department.

Required profile

• Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or similar setting.
• Strong scientific knowledge and practical laboratory skills.
• A relevant degree (preferred).
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
