About the role
This part‑time, temporary position supports science teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5 in a mixed secondary school in Barnet. You will work under the Senior Science Technician to ensure practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teaching staff in delivering science lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Set up practical lessons and prepare equipment under the direction of the Senior Science Technician.
- Maintain and tidy the science laboratory, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Provide occasional support during lessons as required.
Required profile
- Science background with a passion for supporting education.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Excellent attention to detail and understanding of health and safety practices in a lab.
Required skills
- Laboratory equipment preparation.
- Health and safety compliance in a science lab.
