Science Tutor – Part‑time 1:1 Tuition

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Science Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Boscombe and the surrounding area. Working alongside local authorities, you will help learners who need alternative educational provision to deepen their understanding of Science while building confidence and motivation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one Science tuition covering KS3, GCSE and equivalent curricula.
• Design and adapt lessons to suit each learner’s individual needs and learning style.
• Support students with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs, fostering engagement and progress.
• Maintain clear communication with learners, parents and local authority partners.
• Travel within the local area as required to conduct sessions.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Science subjects at KS3/GCSE level.
• Ability to deliver engaging, personalised sessions.
• Experience with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver’s licence preferred or willingness to travel locally.
