SCL Shift Engineer – Major London Tunnelling Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SCL Shift Engineer to join a market‑leading Tier 1 joint venture on a major tunnelling project in London. The contract runs for 18‑24 months and offers a competitive day rate based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Sub‑Agent and liaise with clients, subcontractors and the design team.
• Prepare and write RAMS and ITP documents.
• Set up the site and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Plan and programme works at least three weeks ahead.
• Attend weekly progress meetings.
• Manage site and setting‑out engineers.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with a recognised Tier 1 contractor on tunnelling projects.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Valid CSCS card.

Required skills

• Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) experience.
• Knowledge of RAMS and ITP processes.
• Health & Safety compliance.
• Project planning and programming.
• Site set‑up and setting‑out.
• Tunnelling expertise.
