Second Chef – Care Home Kitchen (Full‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

Join a brand‑new care home kitchen in the seaside town of Selsey and help shape its culinary culture from the ground up. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will create a welcoming environment where residents enjoy high‑quality, nutritious meals every day.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain strict standards of food presentation, hygiene and safety.
• Assist with menu planning, ingredient ordering and kitchen organisation.
• Support day‑to‑day service, ensuring a smooth and professional kitchen operation.
• Collaborate with the team to foster a positive and efficient work atmosphere.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 qualifications or equivalent, or working towards a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, reliable attitude.
