Secondary Computing Teacher (KS3‑KS4) – Special School

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Computing Teacher to join a reputable special school in rural West Sussex. The role involves delivering tailored ICT and Computing programmes for students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4, supporting both academic and personal development.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with emotional, behavioural, social or communication difficulties.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes healthy physical, emotional and behavioural growth.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, subject teachers, the school doctor and therapists to design holistic learning plans.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources for a therapeutic setting, ensuring progress across KS3‑KS4.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience or a strong desire to work with children who have BESD in a therapeutic environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle due to the rural location.
