Secondary Cover Teacher – Flexible School Cover

About the role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic, qualified teachers to provide secondary cover across schools in Sussex for the 2023‑2024 academic year. You will work on a day‑to‑day or longer‑term basis, stepping into classrooms to maintain continuity of learning for pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and adapt resources for a range of secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities, PE, and Modern Foreign Languages.
• Provide effective classroom and behaviour management, upholding school policies and positive expectations.
• Communicate regularly with class teachers and senior leadership teams regarding pupil progress and any issues.
• Flexibly cover multiple schools, adapting quickly to different environments and timetables.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status (or equivalent) with a current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no sponsorship available).
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience teaching your subject and covering other classes when required.
