Secondary General Cover Teacher – Flexible School Cover

About the role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic, qualified teachers to provide secondary school cover across Sussex for the 2023‑2024 academic year. The role involves day‑to‑day or longer‑term cover in a variety of subjects, allowing you to work in different schools and gain valuable experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and manage classrooms as a cover teacher in secondary schools.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and subject specialisms.
• Maintain positive behaviour standards and address any disruptive conduct.
• Communicate effectively with class teachers and senior leadership teams.

Required profile

• Qualified teaching status (or equivalent).
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Flexibility to work across multiple schools and subjects.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
