Secondary General Cover Teacher – Full‑Time

About the role

We are partnering with schools in Brighton and the wider South East to provide a qualified Secondary General Cover Teacher on a full‑time basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality lessons that challenge and motivate students.
• Assess, record and report on pupil progress, attainment and development.
• Maintain classroom discipline through effective teaching and positive management techniques.
• Contribute to curriculum development and participate in school‑wide academic activities.
• Communicate pupil progress to parents and guardians during meetings and evenings.
• Stay informed of changes to the national curriculum and best‑practice teaching methods.
• Mentor students, offering guidance on both educational and personal matters.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• A degree in a relevant subject area.
• Proven experience teaching at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
