Secondary General Cover Teacher (Full‑time Temporary)

About the role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic, qualified teachers to provide secondary cover across schools in Sussex for the 2023‑2024 academic year. The role involves stepping into classrooms on a day‑to‑day or longer‑term basis, delivering lessons across a range of subjects and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum content for assigned subjects, adapting lessons as needed.
• Provide short‑term or long‑term cover in multiple secondary schools.
• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold school policies.
• Communicate effectively with class teachers and senior leadership teams.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and lesson plans.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status (or equivalent).
• Current DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Flexibility to work in various schools and adapt to different timetables.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
