Secondary Humanities Teacher – Birkenhead (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Secondary Humanities Teacher to join a partner high school in Birkenhead for an urgent September start. The role covers History, Geography, and Religious Education, delivering engaging lessons and supporting students through GCSE preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive lessons in History, Geography and RE.
• Prepare students for GCSE exams, focusing on essay writing and exam techniques.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with department staff and teaching assistants to share resources.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) with a specialism in History, Geography, RE or General Humanities.
• Strong knowledge of the UK secondary Humanities curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Early‑career teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
