Secondary Learning Support Mentor (Full‑time)

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking a Secondary Learning Support Mentor to join a secondary school in Havering. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, and involves providing one‑to‑one, small‑group or classroom support to pupils with additional needs. You will help students access learning, develop independence and feel safe throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised learning support to pupils with MLD, SLD, ASD, SEMH or behavioural challenges.
• Work alongside teachers to adapt resources and facilitate inclusive classroom activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and report observations to senior staff.
• Promote a positive and supportive environment that encourages student confidence.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individual education plans.

Required profile

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Relevant SEND qualification (Level 1‑3) or equivalent experience.
• Empathetic, reliable and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
