Secondary Music Teacher – Supply Placements (Sept Start)

About the role
Academics is looking for a creative and dynamic Secondary Music Teacher to cover a range of supply placements across schools in Ellesmere Port starting this September. The role offers the chance to teach both practical and theoretical music to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with occasional A‑Level opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons covering performance, composition, and music technology.
- Adapt quickly to different school environments, covering daily, short‑term, or long‑term absences.
- Support or lead extracurricular ensembles, choirs, and school performances where applicable.
Required profile
- A degree in Music, Music Performance or a related discipline and/or UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/ECT).
- Proven experience teaching the UK secondary music curriculum.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Required skills
- Strong practical musicianship (instrumental or vocal).
- Familiarity with music technology software such as Sibelius, Logic or GarageBand.
- Effective classroom management.
