Secondary RE Teacher – Liverpool

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a secondary school in Liverpool. This temporary, long‑term position starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time schedule (8 am‑4 pm). The role involves delivering engaging RE lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver RE lessons covering religious traditions, moral values and philosophical ideas.
• Mark assignments, provide constructive feedback and track student performance.
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe, respectful atmosphere.
• Mentor students to develop academic and life skills.
• Communicate with parents about progress and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake it).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and recent professional references covering the last 24 months.
