Secondary School Cover Supervisor (Bolton)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Bolton. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain classroom experience by delivering pre‑planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver pre‑planned lessons in the teacher’s absence.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure students stay engaged with the lesson material.
• Follow existing lesson plans and uphold safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, support work, sports coaching or similar settings.
• Confidence in managing groups and building positive relationships.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Adaptable, reliable and enthusiastic attitude.
• Degree desirable but not essential; relevant experience as a coach, youth worker, support worker or mentor is valued.
