Secondary School Cover Teacher (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic secondary school cover teachers to deliver pre‑planned lessons on a temporary basis across Surrey and West Sussex. This role offers flexibility for qualified teachers who want to make a positive impact while adapting to different classroom environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects in the regular teacher’s absence.
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a constructive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse classes and individual students.
• Provide feedback on student performance and report any significant issues.
• Ensure the safety and safeguarding of all pupils at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in secondary schools.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to adapt quickly to new settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for education and high‑quality teaching.
