Secondary SEMH Outreach Advisor

About the role
The Secondary SEMH Outreach Advisor will support secondary schools across Lambeth to improve teaching, learning and inclusion for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Working within a newly‑developed SEMH Outreach Service, you will help schools access specialist advice quickly, coordinate preventative support and embed effective strategies before issues escalate.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with school staff, local authority teams and external agencies to deliver timely SEMH‑focused interventions.
- Coordinate access to the Experts at Hand model, ensuring schools receive specialist guidance and resources.
- Support the development and delivery of early‑intervention programmes and resources for at‑risk pupils.
- Work with the EHCP team, children’s social care, educational psychologists, health and mental‑health colleagues, and families to create whole‑school approaches.
- Monitor and report on outcomes such as attendance, exclusions and pupil progress.
Required profile
- Experience working in education, SEND, or related multi‑agency environments.
- Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and inclusive practice in secondary settings.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with schools, local authority officers and external partners.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
