About the role
Hays Education is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teachers to support schools in Gillingham, Kent and surrounding areas. You will step in for absent class teachers, delivering pre‑planned lessons and ensuring continuity of learning for secondary pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups (KS3‑KS4).
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
- Support students’ academic progress and wellbeing.
- Provide post‑lesson feedback to departments and school leaders.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community.
Required profile
- Experience teaching in secondary education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Confidence delivering KS3‑KS4 curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility, reliability and ability to adapt to different school settings.
