Secondary Supply Teacher – KS3 & KS4

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic secondary supply teachers to cover KS3 and KS4 across schools in Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding area. The role offers daily, short‑term and long‑term placements, with the possibility of progressing to a permanent position. You will work on‑site, delivering lessons in your specialist subject or providing general cover as required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
• Follow each school’s policies and procedures to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress where required.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Build constructive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) – essential.
• Experience teaching in a UK secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake a free course provided by Prospero Teaching).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
