About the role

Hays Education is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teachers for schools in Rochester, Kent and surrounding areas. You will step in for absent teachers, delivering pre‑planned lessons and ensuring continuity of learning for students across KS3‑KS4.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
• Adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learner needs.
• Support students’ academic progress and wellbeing.
• Provide feedback to departments and school leaders after lessons.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Experience teaching in secondary education.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Confidence delivering lessons for KS3‑KS4.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexibility, reliability and adaptability to different school settings.
