About the role
We are seeking a motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11‑16 in a vibrant secondary school in Beaconsfield. The role offers a paid placement starting September 2026, ideal for graduates interested in gaining classroom experience and progressing towards a teaching career.
Key responsibilities
- Work with individuals and groups of pupils to deliver learning programmes.
- Prepare and maintain basic classroom resources and equipment.
- Set up the classroom for lessons as directed.
- Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupils' achievement and progress.
- Offer ad‑hoc support such as photocopying, laminating, and resource preparation.
- Supervise pupils outside lesson time during the school day.
- Accompany staff and pupils on trips, visits and out‑of‑school activities.
- Attend relevant meetings and participate in training and professional development.
Required profile
- Graduate or candidate with some experience working with young people (paid or voluntary).
- Excellent communication skills and a good understanding of effective SEN strategies.
- Commitment to a long‑term graduate teaching assistant role.
- Willingness to contribute to the school’s aim of becoming outstanding.
