Secondary Teaching Assistant

About the role
The school is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the secondary school, primarily in Key Stage 3 (ages 11‑14) and some in Key Stage 4. You will help students focus in lessons, complete tasks, and manage emotions and behaviour while working closely with teachers and the SEN Co‑ordinator.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Assist students in maintaining focus, completing classroom tasks, and regulating behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SEN Co‑ordinator to deliver tailored interventions.
- Support pupils across KS3 and, where needed, KS4.
- Participate in training and professional development sessions.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting teenagers in youth settings, community groups, or personal life.
- Proactive, committed, and professional attitude with a ‘can‑do’ mindset.
- Willingness to move into a teaching career.
