About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Reading. The role starts in September and offers term‑time only work, providing valuable classroom experience and the chance to progress to a permanent position.
Key responsibilities
- Support teachers and students across a range of subjects.
- Work with individuals and small groups to ensure curriculum access.
- Assist pupils with additional learning needs as required.
- Promote positive behaviour and student engagement.
- Provide general classroom and administrative support.
Required profile
- Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine interest in education and student development.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
