Secondary Teaching Assistant – Reading (Term‑time)

About the role

A welcoming secondary school in Reading is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team from September. The role is term‑time only and offers the chance to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting pupils across a range of subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
• Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs as required.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.
• Help develop pupils' confidence, independence and academic progress.
• Provide general classroom and administrative support.

Required profile

• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and student development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
