Secondary Teaching Assistant (Term‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Reading. The role starts in September and offers a term‑time only, full‑time schedule, providing valuable classroom experience and the chance to progress to a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers and students across a range of subjects.
• Work with individuals and small groups to ensure curriculum access.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Promote positive behaviour and student engagement.
• Provide general classroom and administrative support.

Required profile

• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and student development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
