Secondary Teaching Assistant – Up to £110 per day

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Reading from September. The role is term‑time only and offers the chance to support students across a range of subjects while gaining valuable classroom experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs as required.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.
• Offer general classroom and administrative assistance.

Required profile

• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and student development.
• Ability to build constructive relationships with staff and learners.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
