Security Consultant / System Security Consultant

About the role

Sixworks is looking for a Security Consultant / System Security Consultant to protect its internal infrastructure and support defence and national security missions. You will work closely with IT service delivery and senior management to ensure ongoing security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cyber risk and ensure security of all internal systems.
• Develop, maintain and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Validate system design and implementation against security outcomes.
• Produce evidence to satisfy MOD regulations.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure and agile teams to achieve security goals.
• Report compliance status and cyber‑risk metrics to senior management.
• Provide security consultancy to project teams and improve operational security.

Required profile

• Ownership mindset, critical thinking and collaborative attitude.
• Experience conducting risk assessments using NIST, ISO 27005 or similar frameworks.
• Ability to create security documentation such as risk assessments, management plans, policies and test reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage change securely and effectively.

Required skills

• Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, JAMF.
• Windows, macOS, Kubernetes environments.
• Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD principles.
• Risk assessment methodologies (NIST, ISO 27005).
