Security Delivery Manager

About the role

Sixworks is seeking a Security Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of security outcomes across multiple programmes supporting defence and national security missions. Reporting to the CISO, you will bridge strategic security direction with day‑to‑day execution, ensuring security is embedded consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Programme Security Leads, overseeing performance and development.
• Ensure security delivery aligns with organisational strategy, policies and secure‑by‑design principles.
• Act as the primary escalation point for security risks, issues and dependencies across programmes.
• Build strong relationships with programme managers, technology leaders and business stakeholders to embed security throughout delivery lifecycles.
• Prioritise and allocate security resources across competing programme demands.
• Track, report and communicate security delivery metrics, risks and maturity to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Security Architecture, Engineering and GRC teams to maintain alignment across all security disciplines.
• Support governance processes, including risk management, exception handling and assurance activities.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a cybersecurity or technology delivery environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Experience delivering security across large‑scale programmes or portfolios.
• Broad understanding of cybersecurity domains such as risk, architecture and engineering.
• Ability to balance strategic direction with pragmatic execution.
• Experience with delivery methodologies (Agile, DevOps or hybrid) and integrating security into them.
• Excellent communication skills, translating security concepts into business language.
