Security Operations Engineer (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

AccessPay is seeking a proactive Security Operations Engineer to protect its people, platforms and customers. You will join the Cyber Security team and play a central part in monitoring, detecting and responding to threats while continuously enhancing the company’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and improve security operations across cloud, endpoint, network and application environments.
• Lead investigation, triage and response to security incidents to minimise risk.
• Develop and optimise detection rules, automations and tooling for faster threat detection.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Coordinate vulnerability management from scanning to remediation and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to use AI‑powered security tools and automation for proactive threat management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Security Operations, Cyber Security or Information Security role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical teams.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials or SWIFT CSP.
