About the role
Join a supportive team delivering specialist assistance to pupils aged 8‑16 in SEMS (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) and Alternative Provision settings across Harlow. You will help young people with additional needs such as ADHD, PTSD, ASD and challenging behaviours to thrive academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with additional needs in learning and personal development.
- Collaborate with class teachers to design and deliver engaging activities.
- Facilitate the development of social skills and positive relationships.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Make a tangible difference to each young person’s daily experience.
Required profile
- Genuine interest in supporting young people, especially those with mental‑health needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Patience, empathy and resilience.
- Previous experience is a plus but not essential – full training provided.
