SEMH & Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support young people aged 5‑11 in SEMH schools and Alternative Provision settings across Chigwell. You will help pupils with additional needs such as ADHD, PTSD, ASD and challenging behaviours, making a real difference to their daily lives.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs in their learning and personal development.
• Work closely with class teachers to create engaging and interactive activities.
• Help children develop social skills and build positive relationships.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment.
• Make a genuine difference to young people’s lives every day.

Required profile

• A genuine interest in supporting young people, especially those with mental health needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and resilience.
• Previous experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided.

What we offer

• Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, term‑time only.
• Pay: from £105 per day and upwards depending on experience.
• Start date: September with temporary‑to‑permanent options.
• Location: Chigwell, South East England.
