SEMH Learning Support Assistant – All Boys Secondary (Liverpool)

About the role

The SEMH Learning Support Assistant will work within an all‑boys secondary provision in Liverpool, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This full‑time position starts in September 2026 and offers a pathway to a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom behaviour management.
• Promote a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Model positive behaviour and act as a role‑model for pupils.
• Help develop pupils’ social skills and emotional regulation.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management abilities.
• Resilience, patience and adaptability.
• Ability to build professional relationships with students and staff.
• Commitment to supporting young people’s educational and personal development.
