SEMH Primary Teacher (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a specialist SEMH primary school in Salisbury to hire a dedicated Primary Teacher (QTS) for a September start. The role involves delivering a personalised curriculum that supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs while fostering academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual SEMH needs of each pupil.
• Promote a structured, inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and wider support teams.
• Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures consistently.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Experience in a primary setting; both experienced teachers and early‑career teachers are welcome.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective classroom management.
• Patient, resilient and relationship‑focused approach.
• Passion for supporting pupils with SEMH or SEN needs.
