SEMH STEM Teacher – Secondary (Permanent)

About the role

This position is for a dedicated SEMH Teacher of STEM subjects, working with secondary‑aged students in Liverpool. You will join a specialist SEMH trust and an alternative provision, delivering high‑quality STEM education to learners with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, differentiated STEM lessons to secondary students with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with additional needs, promoting both academic and personal development.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience working within SEMH and/or SEND settings.
• Confidence teaching STEM subjects at secondary level.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach.

Required skills

• Ability to differentiate STEM curriculum for diverse learners.
• Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions.
• Effective classroom management techniques.
