SEMH Teacher – Full‑time Specialist Role

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join its specialist provision in Salford for the full academic year starting September 2026. You will work with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom have experienced disrupted education, trauma or additional SEND requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across a broad curriculum.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage pupil engagement and progress.
• Support pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges and other SEND needs.
• Apply positive behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Monitor and adapt pupil progress to maximise learning outcomes.
• Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Previous experience in SEMH, SEND or alternative provision teaching.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Deep understanding of trauma‑informed practice and differentiated teaching.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate approach.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
