SEMH Teacher – Specialist Provision (Full‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision that supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This temporary full‑time position offers the chance to make a real difference to young people who require additional guidance and a structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviour.
• Build strong, positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust.
• Collaborate with support staff, external professionals and families.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans.
• Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential).
• Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
• A nurturing, patient and consistent approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
