SEMH Teacher – Specialist School (Canterbury)

About the role
The school is seeking an enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting in Canterbury from September 2026. You will work with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs, providing a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with support staff, senior leaders and external professionals.
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
- Availability to work five days per week from September.
- Experience in an SEMH setting or with challenging behaviour, SEND or additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, resilient approach.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
