SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, Bromley (Sept Start)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive SEND primary school in Bromley. The role starts in September and is full‑time, offering the chance to make a real difference to pupils with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils regulate emotions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Support pupils during transitions, break times, and throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Availability for full‑time work (Monday‑Friday, term time).
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow behaviour support plans.
