SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Psychology Graduate)

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Psychology Graduate to join our specialist school in Salisbury as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, long‑term position offers hands‑on experience supporting children and teenagers with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with students experiencing trauma, anxiety, OCD, attachment issues and low self‑esteem.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored educational and therapeutic interventions.
- Assist in behaviour management through positive relationship building.
- Support the development of coping strategies and emotional resilience.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in Psychology (or related field).
- Passion for mental health and helping others.
- Willingness to work in a specialist educational setting.
- Ability to start immediately.
Required skills
- Basic understanding of mental health concepts and therapeutic approaches.
