Semi-senior Accountant – 4‑day week, up to £35k

About the role

We are looking for a semi‑senior accountant to join our fast‑growing, digitally‑focused practice in Crawley. The role offers genuine independence, clear career progression and a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements (FRS 102 Section 1A, FRS 105), interim accounts and VAT returns.
• Assist with corporation tax and personal tax computations.
• Produce schedules and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Manage CIS filings, payroll processing and pension scheme payments.
• Communicate with clients via cloud platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks and Dext.
• Provide advisory input on budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with small‑business clients.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UK taxation and accounting regulations.

Required profile

• AAT certified or part‑qualified/recently qualified ACA/ACCA.
• 2–3 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong communication skills and a service‑driven mindset.
• Proficient with digital accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks).
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and take responsibility.
• Valid driving licence (essential for office location).
