Semi Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a forward‑thinking accountancy practice, is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of UK clients. This role offers exposure to statutory accounts, tax compliance and advisory work while you progress toward a professional qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a varied client base.
• Prepare Corporation Tax, Self‑Assessment returns, P11Ds and Capital Gains Tax reports.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Support clients with day‑to‑day accounting and tax queries.
• Identify tax planning and business improvement opportunities.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver excellent service.
• Assist managers on advisory projects and meet deadlines.

Required profile

• AAT qualified and currently studying ACA or ACCA (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns.
• Strong organisational, communication and client‑relationship skills.
• Proactive with the ability to manage multiple client assignments.

Required skills

• Xero (or other cloud accounting software).
• Iris (desirable).
