Semi-Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Semi‑Senior Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Ashford. The role offers a chance to work with a diverse client base and develop your expertise across a range of accounting services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.
• Support senior accountants during audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks and maintain accurate financial records.
• Provide tax advice and assist with tax computations as required.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering guidance and support.
• Contribute to the improvement of internal processes and procedures.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in accounting standards and relevant legislation.

Required profile

• Experience preparing accounts for a variety of client types.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Professional qualification or part‑qualification (ACCA, ACA).
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for client and colleague interaction.
