Semi Senior Accountant

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a well‑established and growing accountancy practice in Bexhill. The role offers exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client management within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts and personal/business tax returns for sole traders and limited companies.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, financial records and support financial reporting and management accounts.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, respond to queries and ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with day‑to‑day administration, invoicing, expense tracking and coordinate with colleagues and external providers.

Required profile

• AAT qualified, or ACA/ACCA part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum three years recent experience within an accountancy practice, preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and limited companies.
• Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero and QuickBooks accounting software.
• Experience using IRIS (advantageous).
• Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel skills.
