About the role
Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Leeds, is looking for a highly organised Semi Senior Accountant. The role offers the chance to work on a varied portfolio of accounts and tax work while developing technical expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
- Reconcile profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
- Prepare and submit corporation tax returns.
- Complete self‑assessment tax returns.
- Handle quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) income tax submissions.
- Support and mentor junior team members.
- Work with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and IRIS.
Required profile
- 2–3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
- Confidence using cloud‑based accounting software.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for client and colleague interaction.
