Semiconductor Process Engineer (R&D) – Harwell

About the role

We are seeking a Semiconductor Process Engineer to support the development and optimisation of semiconductor manufacturing processes within a small R&D and production team working on III‑V materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise fabrication processes such as photolithography, etching, deposition and wafer cleaning.
• Analyse process data to identify trends and improve performance.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and quality teams to support new product introduction and scale‑up.
• Document process specifications and operating procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in semiconductor processing within a cleanroom environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of process characterisation and statistical analysis techniques.
