SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for ASD & ADHD

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a primary‑school pupil who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD. The role is based in Islington and provides daily, one‑to‑one support within the classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised assistance to the pupil, following their Individual Education Plan.
• Support classroom participation, academic tasks and social interaction.
• Implement behaviour‑management strategies and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to monitor progress and adapt approaches.
• Record observations and contribute to regular reviews of the pupil’s development.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN, especially ASD and ADHD.
• Patient, caring and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage behaviour effectively.
• Reliability and commitment to a full‑time, temporary placement.
